Job Hunting in the US

One thing I wished someone told me before going to college in the US was that it would be hard to find a job in the US if you were not an American citizen or resident. As an engineer or business student, you are often exposed to career fairs, where companies from all across the country come to recruit new talent to bring on board. The issue is, as a foreign student, navigating a career fair can be confusing territory because not only must you compete against your peers, but the pool of potential companies willing to sponsor your internship or full-time position is quite limited. It is worthwhile to talk with your college or university's international student center about potential job opportunities. Often times, the companies that are able to sponsor foreign students are Fortune 500, and once you get your foot in the door, a sponsored internship can turn into a sponsored full-time position, which can eventually permanent residency.
From our research, here is a list of companies that have or do sponsor foreign students.
